Barbados Cultural Book
The goal of this 12-page booklet was to share the rich and diverse culture of the Barbados Crop Over Festival. Crop Over is a vibrant 3 month long celebration that marks the end of the sugar cane growing season, and encapsulates the island’s rich history. This 8’’ x 8’’ booklet will explore the exciting events, fashion, and recipes that make up this unforgettable celebration.
Crop Over is a very fun, vibrant, and dynamic festival and I wanted to visually represent that throughout my booklet. I chose to use cut-out images which I paired with choppy shapes that matched the silhouette of the images. I worked diligently with photo placement and the interaction between image and text within each spread. I continued use of the choppy organic shapes and strokes throughout my booklet.
